Former First Lady Melania Trump has questioned law enforcement officials about the assassination attempt on her husband Donald Trump, stating that the silence surrounding the event "feels heavy".
In a video shared on her official X account, Melania expressed her frustration over the lack of accountability, and said, "I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?"
“The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience. There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth,” she further said in the clip.

Earlier, Melania had issued a formal statement just days after her husband was attacked while he was delivering a speech during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
“When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change,” she said.

“I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” the former first lady added.
The new video comes two days after Melania criticised Joe Biden's administration over escalating living costs and what she described as 'deliberate attempts' to silence her husband.
In a black-and-white video posted on social media on Sunday (Sep 8), the former first lady said, "The 2020 election results changed our lives forever. It impacted our quality of life, cost of food, gasoline, safety and even the geopolitical landscape."
"It has become increasingly apparent that there are significant challenges to free speech as demonstrated by the efforts to silence my husband," she added.

At 54, Melania Trump remains a figure of intrigue. During her time in the White House, she focused primarily on raising her son, Barron, who is now studying at NYU’s Stern School of Business.
Despite Donald Trump's renewed campaign for the White House, Melania has kept a low profile. According to Daily Mail, she appeared at the Republican National Convention but did not address the audience and has yet to make an appearance at a campaign rally or debate.
