Norway :Man dies after he fell from cliff that featured in 'Mission Impossible- Fallout'

A man died after falling froma 1,981-foot cliff in Norway that featured in film"Mission Impossible-Fallout." A report by CNN on Wednesday (June 5) said that the incident occurred on Monday.Preikestolen is a cliff in southwestern Norway overlooking the Lysefjord.

Nina Thommesen, police attorney for the Sør-Vest politidistrikt, told CNN that the man in his 40swastravelling alone and was found with his phone and ID.

The victim's identity has not been revealed yet.“The police are investigating the case as a fall accident.We have no assumptions that anything criminal has happened," Thommesen added.

Two witnesses questioned

CNN reported that two witnesses were questioned, including one who saw the tragic incident unfold. According to this person, the victim slipped and fell. Preikestolen, also known as the“Pulpit Rock” is one of the most famous mountain hikes in Norwayandsees more than 300,000 visitors a year.

Preikestolen was featured in Mission Impossible- Fallout as a filming location-doubling for Kashmir.

CNN also reported that for the premier of the film,2,000 people hiked four kilometres to the cliff to see itprojected by lasers at night. Tom Cruise had praised the premier, calling it “the most impossible screening” of the film.
