Indian leader Narendra Modi will address Indian diaspora today in Washington before concluding his successful 4-day visit to the US. The theme of the address will be 'The role of Indian diaspora towards India's growth story." The members of the Indian community have already gathered at the Ronald Regan Building in Washington as they await PM Modi's speech.

American President Joe Biden on Friday gifted a special ‘AI T-shirt’ to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What made it truly special for the Indo-US ties was the quote that it carried, which was taken from PM Modi’s address to the joint session of the US Congress a day earlier in Washington DC. PM Modi on his final leg of his US visit is meeting top US CEOs, before he goes on to address the Indian community. Earlier, he met with Boeing CEO David L. Calhoun in Washington DC.

"In the past few years, there have been many advances in AI- Artificial Intelligence. At the same time, there has been even more momentous development in another AI- America and India," PM Modi had said at the joint sitting of the US Congress on 22nd June.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi just concluded a very successful state visit to the White House today. PM Modi and President Biden had a meeting between senior officials and CEOs of American and Indian companies. PM Modi and President Biden reaffirmed that the relationship between India and the US is deeper and more expansive than ever," said John Kirby, NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications on PM Modi's state visit to the US. 

"In 2014 during my visit to the US, President Biden who was at the US State Dept at the time defined India-US friendship as "A promise over the horizon." In the last 9 years, we have taken a long & beautiful journey together in areas of defence, emerging technologies & trade. We are progressing as we work in the frameworks of Quad and I2U2. India and US can be seen working together," said PM Modi during his speech at US Department of State.

PM Modi praised VP Harris saying that her career is an inspiration to women all over the world.

"Friendship and co-operation between India and US should go a long way," said PM Modi at US Department of State.

In her speech, VP Kamala Harris recalled her days in Chennai (then called Madras) and time spent with her grandparents.

"I used to walk with my grandfather. I heard his colleagues talk about India's freedom fight. I remember them talking about fighting corruption," she said.

US Vice-President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken speak as they host a luncheon for PM Modi. 

"We are honoured to host you," VP Harris told PM Modi.

VP Harris underlined India's role around the world.

'I've seen India's global impact. In South East Asia, India-made vaccines have saved lives. In Africa, India's long-standing partnerships support prosperity and security. In Indo-Pacific, India helps promote a free and open region,' she said.

"Our co-operation matters, not just for our own people but to the whole world," said US President Joe Biden. He was speaking during India-US hi-tech handshake event in White House.

India-US hi-tech handshake event has started with PM Modi in attendance. Noted Indian names or those of Indian heritage are in attendance for the event along with top figures in US tech industry. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Google CEP Sundar Pichai, Mahindra and Mahindra chairman Anand Mahindra, Apple CEO Tim Cook are in attendance with others. Sunita Williams, the American astronaut with Indian heritage is present at the event as well.

Kamala Harris and Blinken will host PM Modi for an official state luncheon. Furthermore, PM Modi will address an invitation-only assemblage of diaspora leaders at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC from 7 PM to 9 PM (Local Time).

PM Modi will attend a reception hosted by the United States Indian Community Foundation (USICF), where award-winning international singer Mary Millben will perform. 

PM Modi will travel to Cairo on a two-day State visit to Egypt starting June 24. This will be the PM's first visit to the country. 

He will visit the historic Al-Hakim Mosque built during the Fatimid dynasty in Cairo. 

PM Modi will also visit the Heliopolis War Cemetry in Cairo to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the World War I in Egypt. 

Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan mocked retired Pakistani army general Qamar Javed Bajwa, questioning the effectiveness of his "countless trips" to the United States while referring to a joint statement from the United States and India where Pakistan was strongly condemned for cross-border terrorism and the use of terrorist proxies.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's State visit to the United States has entered a final stage as on Friday (June 23), he will meet the US and Indian business leaders in Washington. 

So far, the visit has been fruitful for India as the meetings were focused on trade, defence, technology, artificial intelligence, space collaboration, quantum computing and more - aiming to deepen US-India cooperation.
