Lewinsky walks out of TV interview over 'off limits' question on Bill Clinton

Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern whose affair with ex-US president Bill Clinton nearly brought down his presidency in the mid-90s, walked out of a TV interview in Israel describing the anchor's question as "off limits".

Lewinsky, 45, who is now an anti-bullying activist had delivered an address in Jerusalem when the TV anchor asked her whether she still expected an apology from Clinton. Lewinsky who was clearly offended rose from her seat and walked off the stage.

Before walking out, Lewinksky said: "I'm so sorry. I'm not going to be able to do this." She took to Twitter later and said: "There were clear parameters about what we would be discussing and what we would not."

"In fact, the exact question the interviewer asked first, she had put to me when we met the day prior. I said that was off limits ... I left because it is more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves and not allow others to control their narrative,"Lewinksky added.

In June, former US president Bill Clinton had said during a TV show that he had apologised to Lewinsky and her family.

"I apologised to my family, to Monica Lewinsky and her family, and to the American people before a panel of ministers in the White House," the former US president said during a TV talk show, adding,"I live with it all the time."

After the scandal, Lewinsky had disappeared from public view fighting her own private battles but emerged suddenlyafter over 15 years declaring that she was a victim of bullying attracting worldwide attention once again.
