President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani has claimed that the North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un begged for the summit with US President Donald Trump after he cancelled it.

He said the North Korean leader "got on his hands and knees and begged".

While speaking at an investment conference in Israel, Giuliani said Trump cancelled the summit because senior North Korean officials insulted top officials of the Trump administration.

The North Korean officials said they would wage a nuclear war with US and would defeat US in a war, he added.

He further said that the Trump administration refused to hold the summit under "such circumstances".

Giuliani said after Trump's refusal for the summit"Kim Jong-un got back on his hands and knees and begged for it, which is exactly the position you want to put him in", a media reported.

For a long time, Kim and Trump were hurling insults and threats of war with each other.

The rhetoric began to cool during the Winter Olympics in South Korea, and by mid-March, the two sides had agreed to a face-to-face.

After some back-and-forth, June 12 in Singapore has been scheduled for the meeting between the two leaders.
