
The mayor of Venice has courted controversy by declaring that anyone who shouts "Allahu Akbar" will be shot dead within four steps, reports said.
Luigi Brugnaro, aright wing politician, was addressing a conference on extremism.
"They said they wanted to go and meet Allah so we will send them straight to Allah without having to throw them off the bridge, we will just shoot them,’’ THESunquoted Brugnaro as saying.
The right wing politician referred to the arrestof four people including a minor who wanted to blow up the Rialto Bridge.
"In Venice, we arrested four terrorists who wanted to blow up the Rialto Bridge, saying they wanted to go to Allah. But we'll send them straight to Allah before they can do any damage," Newsweek quoted the politician as saying.
Out of the four, three were from Kosovo. The group had allegedly hailed the London terror attacks and had been under surveillance for a year.
