German police has evacuated Frankfurt airport
T1 Terminal of Germany's Frankfurt airport has been evacuated, police said.
The evacuation followed a security alert, reports said.
According to media reports, the terminal was evacuated after an "unauthorised person" allegedly got past the security and disappeared.
"At least one unauthorized person has entered the security zone," a spokeswoman for the federal police told Reuters.
On July 28, some 300 flights were cancelled at Munich airport, Germany's second-biggest after Frankfurt, affecting more than 30,000 passengers, after a similar incident in which a person passed through the security area without being checked.
Frankfurt Airport said on Twitter that due to police action, the German police has currently evacuated Piers A and Z at airport's T1.
"As a result of this measure, flight disruptions can be expected," the airport said.
"Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight," it added.
German Airlines Lufthansa said: "Due to police action at Terminal 1 at Frankfurt airportboarding has currently stopped."
