As it happened | Indonesia hands G20 presidency to India

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of a missile strike on Poland that killed two people and told G20 leaders Wednesday there was a "terrorist state" among them. Speaking by video link, Zelensky called the strike "a true statement brought by Russia for the G20 summit", according to a copy of his speech being reported. Meanwhile, Poland has said there is no clear evidence on who launched the missile.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Wednesday officially handed over the G20 presidency to India at the end of a summit of the bloc's leaders in Bali.

A planned meeting between Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit has been cancelled due to "scheduling issues", a Downing Street spokesperson said on Wednesday.

G20 nations on Wednesday said the war in Ukraine was hurting the global economy. the countries also warned against the threat or use of nuclear weapons, according to a final statement agreed on by leaders.

A leaders declaration at the G20 summit attended by major economies was adopted on Wednesday. 

G20 leaders visited a mangrove forest in Bali on Wednesday as part of efforts by the Indonesian government to showcase its commitment to restoration initiatives. Led by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the leaders, which included US President Joe Biden, each planted a mangrove sapling and toured forest reserves on the resort island.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met with Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G20 summit and gave the go-ahead for 3,000 visas for young professionals from India to work in the UK each year. 

"Today the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme was confirmed, offering 3,000 places to 18-30-year-old degree-educated Indian nationals to come to the UK to live and work for up to two years," the UK Prime Minister's Office said in a tweet.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will meet his Indian counterpart at the G20 summit today. He will out a professional exchange scheme, his office said, with talks also planned with China's Xi Jinping for a "frank and constructive relationship."

French President Emmanuel Macron meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday and raised "serious concerns" over suspected domestic interference by the country, reports said. The "interference" is likely a reference to a November 7 Canadian media report that cited intelligence officials saying they suspected China of meddling in the 2019 election. Recently, an employee at Canada's largest electricity producer was found to be sending trade secrets to China.

US President Joe Biden said Wednesday that according to preliminary information, the missile wasn't probably fired "from Russia". He gathered allies for an emergency meeting ahead of the final day of G20 and said that they would support Poland in probing "exactly what happened". 

"It is unlikely... that it was fired from Russia," Biden told reporters in Bali, citing the missile's trajectory. "I'm going to make sure we figure out exactly what happened."

Russia's defence ministry has denied reports that their missiles had landed in Poland, describing them as "a deliberate provocation aimed at escalating the situation". Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said, without providing evidence, that "Russian missiles hit Poland."

The Associated Press, citing a senior US intelligence official, reported that the blast in the eastern Polish village of Przewodow was caused by Russian missiles crossing into Poland. In Washington, the Pentagon and the US State Department said they could not confirm Russian missiles had landed on Polish territory.

An emergency meeting to discuss reports of a missile landing in Polish territory near Ukraine was convened by US President Joe Biden ahead of the final day of the G20 Summit. NATO member Poland said that a Russian-made rocket killed two people on Tuesday in eastern Poland near Ukraine. 

Leaders from the United States, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Japan, Spain, Italy, France and the United Kingdom were participating in the meeting. Except Japan, the rest are members of NATO, the defense alliance that also includes Poland.
