'Red Sparrow' star Jennifer Lawrence is taking a break from movies

The Red Sparrow star Jennifer Lawrence announced todayto take a year off from acting and focus her attention towards motivating young people to actively join politics.

The actress who was seen yesterday walking the red carpet at BAFTAs said that the year of '2019'will be about 'stepping away from the spotlight'to focus all energy on working with a charity called 'Represent Us'.

The 27-year-old actress said, "I'm going to take the next year off. I'm going to be working with this organisation as a part of Represent Us... trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level. It doesn't have anything to do with partisan (politics). It's just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy."

The Hunger Games actress is currently working with the anti-corruption charity, and recently surprised a group of high school students at Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio with a talk about politics in association with the charity.

She said,“This last year has been a trying and challenging time in our world and our industry specifically. Every day, we wake up to a myriad of headlines that deeply impact us, from around the globe.”
