'First Man' trailer: Ryan Gosling plays Neil Armstrong in a new biopic

Ryan Gosling teams up with La La Land director Damien Chazelle team up for a biopic on Neil Armstrong called First Man. The trailer of the film was released on Tuesday and narrates Armstrong's journey to Moon and the trials and difficulties that Armstrong and his family had to face before he embarked on the historic journey.

The film is a screen adaptation of Armstrong’s authorized biography, First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong, written by James R. Hansen. The book was a comprehensive look at the late astronaut’s life butthe film will only cover a smaller part of it- the years between 1961 and 1969, as the space race shifted into full swing.

The film also stars Claire Foy as Armstrong's wife and Kyle Chandler who plays NASA's Chief of the Astronaut Office Deke Slayton.

First Man is scheduled to release in theaters in October this year.
