In a recent interview, actor Dwayne Johnson, he said that he might run for the presidential election in 2024.

Dwayne Johnson has been teasing his fans about contesting in the next presidential election in the United States for quite some time.

Johnson said that as he isbusy till 2021 with prior commitments and will consider running in the 2024 presidential election.

A leading US publication has quoted Dwayne Johnson as saying, "I couldn't do both (make movies and run for President). Realistically, as we go into 2018, when you look at my slate as we're developing and shooting into 2019 and 2020, the slate goes deep into 2021, so it feels like the realistic consideration would be 2024."

Dwayne Johnson has expressed his political ambitions several timesin the past.

In March 2016, Johnson shared an article on Twitter and said,"maybe one day, surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck."

In May 2017, the actor featured in a monologue on Saturday Night Live with a mock announcement of the 2020 presidential candidacy on a ticket with Tom Hanks.

He is not the first an actor who has shown an interest in a political career.

Ronald Reagon, who was an actor, served as the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989.
