Donald Trump, as per reports, has taken a major step in his return to the White House, securing a decisive win in Arizona, according to projections by Decision Desk HQ.

Trump has already surpassed the necessary 270 electoral votes. With the Arizona win, Trump's electoral votes tally will surpass 312 compared to Vice President Kamala Harris's 226.

As per reports, Trump is also projected to secure a win in Alaska.

Arizona, one of the seven US swing states, was a focal point this election cycle.

While it narrowly supported Joe Biden in 2020, it reverted to Trump despite prominent Republican figures like former Senator Jeff Flake and Mesa Mayor John Giles endorsing Harris. These high-profile defections weren't enough to shift the state to the Democratic ticket.

Arizona Senate race

The state concurrently hosted a closely watched Senate race between Democrat Ruben Gallego and Republican Kari Lake, vying to replace outgoing Senator Kyrsten Sinema.

Polls suggest Gallego might have a slight advantage, indicating a possible split-ticket voting.

Trump wins Alaska

Voting projections show that Donald Trump has a lead over his political rival, Democratic Party nominee Kamala Harris. The Associated Press has called the race, announcing Trump as the candidate who will win Alaska's three electoral votes.

Alaska has historically been a red state, supporting the Republican Party candidates. Continuing the decades-long trend, in the 2024 US Election, Alaska once again backed Trump. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 4:59 p.m. EST.
