The chief of the Capitol Police told reporters that the force is “prepared for whatever might happen” when Donald Trump is arraigned in Washington tomorrow.
“We’re prepared for tomorrow,” Thomas Manger said during a press briefing on Wednesday.
He said there is “security plan in place” but declined to go into specifics. Capitol Police and other law enforcement agencies have “been working together in preparation for whatever [happens]”, he said.

On the eve of his court appearance, Donald Trump decried at the charges against him for plotting to overturn his 2020 election defeat.
The "unprecedented indictment" shows the "corruption, scandal, & failure" of the US under Joe Biden's presidency, he wrote on social media.
Trump, who was at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club, thanked his followers and said: "I never had so much support on anything before."

Reffering to Donald Trump's indictment, former US vice president Mike Pence said that “anyone who puts themselves over the Constitution should never be president of the United States.”
He, however, added that Trump is “entitled to the presumption of innocence”
“I really do believe that anyone who puts themselves over the Constitution should never be president of the United States. And anyone who asks someone else to put themselves over the Constitution should never be president of the United States again. I've been very forthright about this issue,” the 2024 Republican presidential candidate told reporters after an economic speech at the Indiana State Fair on Wednesday.

Republican senator Ted Cruz slammed the judge presiding the 2020 election subversion case against Donald Trump, saying that she would be “relentlessly hostile” to the former president.
US district court judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee , will be overseeing the criminal case against Trump.
She is known to hand down some of the longest criminal sentences against those charged with storming the Capitol in the January 6 attack, beyond prosecutors’ recommendations.
We can anticipate a judge who is going to be relentlessly hostile to Donald Trump who is going to bend over backwards for the Biden DOJ, and who is going to make ruling, after ruling, after ruling against Trump.
Notably, Cruz was among the other Republican senator at the time who voted for Chutkan’s confirmation in 2014.

According to a report by New York Times, Trump had a private dinner with Fox News executives shortly after learning that he would be indicted a third time.
The dinner that lasted for almost two hours between Trump, Fox News president Jay Wallace and the network’s chief executive Suzanne Scott, was held at the former president’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, the paper said, citing sources.
The report said that the Fox executives urged Trump to attend the first Republican presidential primary debate later this month. The event will be hosted by Fox News with the Republican national committee in Milwaukee.

According to Bloomberg News, there will be no attempts to formally arrest Donald Trump when he appears at a federal courthouse on Thursday afternoon over the indictment nor have his mugshot taken.
US Marshals Service spokesman Drew Wade told Bloomberg said that Trump's appearance in Washington DC will be similar to one he made in June in Miami, where he pled not guilty to charges over the classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago.
