Your favourite super villain 'Joker' from DC Comics is soon to get its own movie. Warner Bros. and DC are currently working on an origin film about the villain's life so that the fans finally get to know him better.
As reported by Deadline, fans will get answers aboutthe Batman villain's past and what made him the villain that he was including his altercation with Batman. The story behind his infamous cut across the mouth will also be revealed. Itis to be a "gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film" set in 1980s Gotham City, much before Joker decides to go all crazy on the city.
The movie is currently under early development andMartin Scorsese has been signed on to produce the film whileTodd Phillips (Hangover fame) has been roped todirect.
Todd Phillips is currently working on the script with screenwriter Scott Silver, who penned the movie '8 Mile'. Meanwhile,Scorsese is working on the tone of the movie which is reported to liken to movies likeTaxi Driver and Raging Bull.
As reported by Deadline, WB plans to look for a new and younger actor to play the role of Joker. This when Jared Leto is on board tocontinue playing the Joker in the upcoming Harley Quinn spinoff and the next Suicide Squad movie.
As for the plot line, the screenwriters have a lot of ideas in mind but among all origin ideas,Jokeras a crook called the Red Hood isthe most famous origin for the character. It first appearedin a 1950s Batman comic and later in Alan Moore's The Killing Joke.
