Bizarre tantrum: US man throws furniture off Manhattan highrise. Watch

A man from Florida threw lawn chairs, benches, and other furnitureoff a 20-storey Midtown Manhattan highrisewith the debrisnarrowly missing passersby on the street below, a report by the New York Post on Tuesday (June 18) said. This bizarre tantrum was caught on camera.

The man was identified as 33-year-oldJean Olivier. He wasseen in a brief clip tossing the chairs from a landing one level down from the roof of 555 Fifth Ave., an office building near East 46th Street that houses a Barnes & Noble on the Ground Floor.

Citing law enforcement sources, the New York Post report said that Olivier apparentlyvisited the Consulate General of Haiti inside the building, complaining about housing, then flipped out and threw a chair.

The video showed Olivier also throwingseveral plank-like objects down onto the street below. Amotorcyclist narrowly avoided getting injured as he whizzed by. The 33-year-old man whizzed his arms aroundas onlookers inside a building across the street filmed the ordeal.

The furniture-flinging incident lasted for about an hour.

"I saw a lot of looking, panicking and the police came.I wasn’t here when it started but that’s what I saw," a vendor told the publication.

Man arrested, charged

Police said theywere able to find and cuff.

He was charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal trespass, the police said, adding, that the man had no arrests prior.
