US President Donald Trump on Friday stated that the Second Amendment of the Constitution, that protects Americans' rights to bear arms for self-protection, will never be under siege while he serves as the President.
"Your Second Amendment rights are under siege, but they will never, ever be under siege as long as I'm your President. Your Second Amendment will be protected," Trump noted.
Trump also spoke about the recent mass shooting at a school in Parkland, Florida where 17 people lost their lives. He noted that the only solution to such violent incidents is to let "highly trained" teachers carry concealed weapons.
Trump was speaking at the annual National Rifle Association convention in Dallas, Texas.
