US President Donald Trump has said he will impose new tariffs on Denmark and seven other European countries unless they agree to a deal allowing the United States to buy Greenland.
Trump said 10 percent tariffs would come into force immediately and rise to 25 percent on June 1 if negotiations fail. The move has triggered sharp backlash from European allies, raising concerns of a fresh transatlantic trade conflict over sovereignty and security in the Arctic.
