YouTuber MrBeast, who wants to run for president, is ready with a new challenge

US presidential elections have been a hot topic for months now. People are speculating whether Joe Biden will exit the race owing to all the criticism he is facing for his gaffes and debate debacle. Meanwhile, Donald Trump, entangled in all the legal battles, has been taking potshots at Biden.

Amidst all this, YouTuber MrBeast has shown an intention to run for president. He is a popular YouTuber and his bombshell post went viral soon after, garnering over 15 million views in just a few hours, with the final tally standing at around 30 million.

His post read, "If we lower the age to run for president I’ll jump in the race."

Currently, only those above the age of 35 can run for president in the United States.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is 26 and his post received both positive and negative reactions.

People posed questions to him, including one where a user asked him if he would continue to make YouTube videos if he became the president. Jimmy said that he would "probably focus on running the largest economy on earth".

Some of them seemed extremely positive about him bagging a win if he entered the race.

"The funniest part about this is that you’d likely win," one post read, to which biohacker Bryan Johnson agreed by saying, "Honestly, same".

Then there are others who simply don't think he would make for a good president. "Why would you make a good president? You’re just a youtuber," one user wrote, echoing the views of several others.

MrBeast's claim to fame

MrBeast is known for his popular videos where he sets elaborate challenges for his followers and also distributes large giveaways. This is not the first time that he has shown interest in entering politics. On the Tiny Meat Gang podcast in 2022, he said that he might consider running "in like 20 years".

He is also a philanthropist and has done things like building villages and donating food. One of his quirkiest acts was when he gave away 26 Teslas on his 26th birthday.

MrBeast's latest challenge

His next video will be his “best video yet”, he has said. It is going to be a star-studded video featuring 50 of the best content creators from across the world who will be competing for a $1 million prize money while being enclosed in a glass cube. The prize money will be “for their subscribers”.
