Shark flesh, blood dumplings rank among world’s 100 ‘worst’ foods which can leave you nauseated

In a world full of tasty dishes and gastronomical delights, the food experts have now come up with a list of what can be called as 'culinary trash'.

Some unheard and weird food items like blood dumplings, shark flesh and fish entrails have secured a place in the annual list of the 100 worst-rated foods on Earth of Taste Atlas.

The list has been curated on the basis of ratings given by 335,106 users of the site while filtering outbot, nationalist or local patriotic ratings,” said editors.

The site's editors have emphasised that the list should not be taken as the “final, global conclusion” and that it is aimed to “promote excellent local foods” and “instil pride in traditional dishes".

However, it is likely that many dishes on the list are likely to leave the readers with troubled stomachs.

Here are the top eight foods which made it to the list of 'worst' ones

This is a barley flour dumpling which is filled with animal blood, traditionally it was reindeer and now in various places, it is pork and other animals. It is believed to be a food regularly eaten by Santa Claus for 364 days.

Hakarl is the national dish of Iceland. The dish is prepared using Greenland shark's cured flesh and was invented by the Vikings.

The dish has been the new “it” food on TikTok. It is filled with canned sardines.

Stale bread, water, onions, and spices in flavorful broths are used for preparing this traditional Czech soup.

This casserole cake came into existence in the 1700s and is cooked using egg noodles which are coated in an olive oil and sugar mixture.

The core ingredient of this dish is fermented fish entrails which is not for every stomach. It is served with curry paste made from chilli peppers, galangal, turmeric, shallots, and lemongrass.

It is an unhealthy cheeseburger filled with bacon and bookended by two glazed donuts.

Cockneys had in ancient times feasted on eels which were chopped and boiled until gelatinous. The dish has emerged from that time and is still eaten today.
