Time and again the environmental hazards of these launches have also been pointed out by people. This time, when a news piece stated that his latest launch had destroyed nine bird nests, Musk was quick to respond.
An article in the New York Times talks about how SpaceX's latest launch severely impacted the environment with the destruction of bird nests. The story was shared on X by a user, which Musk reposted and wrote that to make up for this heinous crime, he will not eat omelette for a week.
"To make up for this heinous crime, I will refrain from having omelette for a week."
How exactly that makes amends for the destruction of nests isn't clear, but netizens had a field day responding to his tweet. If he was serious or joking isn't clear, but the response could have been in jest.

It appears like Musk could have either written it in anger or maybe he was being sarcastic and taking a jibe at the paper. Musk apparently seemed to slam the paper, accusing it of allegedly not highlighting the news of Boeing being fined for the multiple crashes that killed several people. He wrote while commenting to a user, "Yeah, in the same newspaper, they buried the Boeing story where they killed hundreds of humans β¦"
