Louis Vuitton staff counts $84,050 in cash given by a buyer. She then walks out

Have you ever felt that the staff of a famous brand store looked down upon you, making you feel like you don't belong? Something similar happened to a Chinese woman at a Louis Vuitton store and she returned to exact revenge.

She recounted the incident on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu. Two months back, the wealthy woman walked into an LV store located at the StarLight Place shopping centre in Chongqing. She was browsing through the items but the staff did not make her feel welcome. They acted in a condescending manner and didn't pay attention to her queries. She had a Hermes bag on her arm, also an expensive luxury brand.

When she asked the staff about certain items and made requests, they dismissed her in an insulting fashion. She was met with eye rolls and was directed towards outdated seasonal garments. This left her angry and fuming. She reached out to the Louis Vuitton's headquarters to lodge a complaint. However, no one responded. By this point, she got even more irritated and enraged.

She decided not to drop the matter and waited to make a move. Two months later, she returned to the store. She had a bag of cash containing 600,000 yuan ($84,050 or Rs 68.50 lakh).

Her personal assistant and a friend accompanied her this time. The three of them went around the store browsing through items. They showed interest in buying some things and that is where the cash came into play.

The final blow

They gave the staff cash which they took over two hours to count. Once the entire drill was over, the woman took back her money, and told the sales assistants, "We don’t want to buy now. We are leaving."

Her story has gone viral on social media and people are applauding her for taking the step, with some of them calling it the "most satisfying act of vengeance this year.”

Luxury brand employees are known to behave in an insulting and arrogant manner across the world. The matter has once again drawn attention to the matter. In 2021, a luxury beauty store's sales assistant in China asked a woman who was dressed casually and wore no makeup to leave twice. The store was slammed for the act after which the manager apologised.
