US President Joe Biden's woes seem to have taken a never-ending turn as several senior House Democrats have reportedly discussed that Biden should step down as their party's 2024 White House nominee. They all reportedly got on a private phone call Sunday afternoon, as per reports, and plan to speak up publicly about their concerns on Monday. The major concern, as a source who spoke to USA Today, is whether Biden can efficiently carry on the work of a president for the next four years.&nbsp;

Major publications, such as CNN, Washington Post, New York Times, Politico, among others, reported about the call for committee ranking members organised by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-NY. Reps. Jerry Nadler of New York, Adam Smith of Washington, Mark Takano of California and Joe Morelle of New York, were on the call and all of them believe that the 81-year-old should exit the presidential race.

The lawmakers on the call are all top Democrats on House committees. Several top Democrats attended the call made just as lawmakers make their way to Washington on Monday.&nbsp;

There have been calls for him to step down but Biden is adamant to stay in the race. Several Democrats went into panic mode after the debate and have been discussing whether Biden is fit to serve as president for four years, as by the end of the term he will be 86. There are also fears that he might not be able to beat Donald Trump in the November elections.

Separately, five other House Democrats have publicly called on Biden to quit the presidential race. This includes Reps. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, Seth Moulton, D-Mass., Mike Quigley, D-Ill., Raúl Grijalva, D-Ariz., and Angie Craig, D-Minn.

Last week, Democratic governors met Biden to address the issue. The governors, following the meeting, said that they back Biden for the position and stand by him. While that seemed to have quelled the noise for a moment, things didn't entirely go his way in the next few days. During the July 4 gathering on the White House lawns, he called Trump "one of his colleagues" and later in a radio interview, called himself the "first Black woman...to serve with a Black president".&nbsp;

"By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice-president, first Black woman… to serve with a Black president," adding, "proud of the first Black woman in the Supreme Court," he said during an interview with Philadelphia’s Wurd radio station.

On Friday, Biden, in an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, tried to fix things and assert his intention and capability to continue as the Democratic presidential candidate, but the matter doesn't seem to be dying down anytime soon.
