<p>Chandra then went on to ask whether people know &quot;the kind of privacy agreement&quot; they sign with the big tech companies? And that they (the people) cannot use their own data. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The Aadhaar programme aims to assign every single Indian citizen a unique identification number. Aadhaar is also expected to help transfer government benefits more efficiently to the people who need them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Aadhaar however has come under flak from some quarters who say it invades privacy. There have also been questions asked of how safe the data collected under the programme is.&nbsp;</p>
