Taking notice of allegations of corruption against the Sunni and Shia waqf boards, the Yogi Adityanath government in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has decided to dissolve them. &nbsp;

Minister of state for waqf, Mohsin Raza, said that the chief minister has given his assent to the dissolution of the boards.&nbsp;

Both the boards are facing serious allegations of corruption relating to their properties. The Waqf Council of India, in its investigation, also found instances of irregularities against them.

The central waqf council, in a report by its fact-finding committee, indicted Azam Khan, who was minister of waqf in the previous Samajwadi government, of corruption, mismanagement and misuse of office. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The role of the chairman of Shia Waqf Board, Wasim Rizvi, has also come under scanner after an inquiry by the Waqf Council of India. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The report said Azam Khan misused his position as minister to usurp waqf properties.

The report also said that the former minister diverted funds from waqf properties to a trust floated by him. &nbsp; &nbsp; 
The committee recommended that the boards be dissolved.&nbsp;

Azam Khan has refuted the allegations against him.
