A group of buyers, including Fortress Investment Group, is poised to take over the bankrupt Vice Media company after submitting a bid of $225 million, according to three individuals familiar with the matter.

Vice Media the iconic digital brand known for its websites like Vice news and Motherboard has filed for bankruptcy. Vice media also said that it has agreed to the terms of an asset purchase agreement with a Consortium of its lenders which includes Fortress Investment Group, Soros Fund Management and Monroe Capital.
