Pope Leo has begun an 11-day tour of Africa, starting in Algeria, in what is being called a historic visit.

Ahead of his arrival in Cameroon, Anglophone separatists have announced a temporary ceasefire and “safe travel passage” in the conflict-hit region.

The Pope’s tour will also include visits to Angola and Equatorial Guinea, focusing on peace, stability, and humanitarian outreach.
