<p>Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Sidharth Nath Singh dismissed the Chief Medical Officer of a community health centre in Unnao on Tuesday.</p>

<p>The stringent action came after it was reported that 32 patients underwent eye surgery under torchlight, a case of extreme medical negligence.</p>

<p>The operations were carried out on Monday under torchlight as the health centre reportedly did not have any electricity&nbsp;or power back up.</p>

<p>The relatives of the patients claimed that the health centre did not provide any&nbsp;bed and the patients were made to lie down on the floor despite the extreme cold weather.</p>

<p>The patients were referred to the health centre by a Kanpur-based NGO.</p>
