<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday changed his name on his Twitter profile to 'Chowkidar' Narendra Modi, and a number of BJP bigwigs including party president Amit Shah and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal followed suit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Modi had first referred to himself as the chowkidar (watchman) of the nation in the run-up to the 2014 general elections. "Na khaoonga, na khaane doonga (I will not be corrupt, I will not let others be corrupt)," he had said then. &nbsp;</p>

<p>"<a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/your-chowkidar-is-standing-firm-and-serving-nation-pm-modi-203679">Your Chowkidar is standing firm &amp; serving the nation</a>," Modi had tweeted on Saturday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"But, I am not alone," he said. "Everyone who is fighting corruption, dirt, social evils is a Chowkidar. Everyone working hard for the progress of India is a Chowkidar."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rahul has for some time now been attacking Modi over the Rafale deal, especially the choosing of Anil Ambani's Reliance Defence as an offset partner of Dassault Aviation — the French manufacturer of the Rafales — considering Ambani's firm has no experience in the defence or aerospace industries.&nbsp;</p>
