Sweden ends UNRWA funding, vows to redirect aid to Gaza through alternative channels

Sweden will no longer fund the U.N. refugee agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) but instead provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza via other channels, the Nordic country's aid minister, Benjamin Dousa, told Swedish broadcaster TV4 on Friday.

The U.N. refugee agency said on Wednesday (October 2) it was holding talks with India about its citizenship register in the border state of Assam amid concerns it could leave millions - many of them Muslims - joining the ranks of the world's stateless.
