<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that he was committed to a ''grand'' statue of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar's statue at the same spot.</p>

<p>Addressing an election rally in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, the prime minister alleged hooliganism by Trinamool Congress workers during party president Amit Shah's rally in Kolkata.&nbsp;</p>

<p>''We saw hooliganism by TMC workers again during Bhai Amit Shah's roadshow in Kolkata. They vandalised Vidyasagar's statue. We are committed to Vidyasagar's vision and will install his grand statue at the same spot,'' he said.</p>

<p>The prime minister said that a few months back he was forced to cut short his speech in Thakurnagar in West Bengal as TMC goons indulged in hooliganism. The situation was no different in West Medinipur earlier, he added.</p>

<p>Modi also slammed Mayawati for not condemning Mamata for targetting UP-Bihar Purvanchal people in West Bengal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>''I thought the way Mamata didi is targeting UP-Bihar Purvanchal people, calling them outsiders for her politics, Behen Mayawati will surely slam Mamata didi, but this did not happen,'' Modi said.</p>

<p>He also targetted SP-BSP for giving a ticket to an absconder in a rape case.</p>

<p>''SP-BSP has given ticket to a person who is an absconder in a rape case. SP has this history in UP, people know, but Behen ji will you seek votes for such candidates?'' Modi added.&nbsp;</p>
