Meanwhile, an Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey showed a tight race between Harris and Trump in several key swing states. With less than a month until Election Day, on November 5, both candidates are virtually neck-and-neck as per the report released on Thursday. Harris and Trump tied in battleground states: WSJ According to the WSJ opinion poll, the incumbent vice president has a marginal two-percentage-point lead in Arizona, Georgia and Michigan. However, Trump is reportedly up by six points in Nevada and leading in Pennsylvania by just one point. The two presidential candidates, as per the poll conducted between September 28-October 8 are tied in North Carolina and Wisconsin. Poll reveals close competition in the critical battleground states According to the Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey, in Arizona, Trump is ahead with 49 per cent support, just two points higher than Harris, who stands at 47 per cent. Trump has a narrow advantage in Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, leading Harris 49 per cent to 48 per cent. Trump recently returned to Butler, Pennsylvania, alongside X owner Elon Musk, while former President Barack Obama has joined Harris' campaign trail to attract voters. Michigan and Wisconsin see both candidates locked at 49 per cent. Harris is narrowly ahead in Nevada, where she holds 48 per cent support to Trump’s 47 per cent. Since the last polling round three weeks ago, Harris has made gains in Georgia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, but has lost support in Arizona and North Carolina. Trump has seen a slight drop in Georgia and Nevada but improved his position in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. National polls show tight race as election day nears Another poll, conducted by Reuters/Ipsos, also found that Harris and Trump are in a tight race nationally, with the Democrat slightly ahead at 46 per cent compared to the Republican's 43 per cent. Polls show Republicans poised to flip Senate With the presidential election less than a month away, Republicans may reportedly take control of the Senate, which is currently held by the Democrats. However, Democrats may have a slight advantage in the contest for the House, which is now in Republican hands. If predictions hold, this would mark a rare political outcome where both chambers of Congress switch party control in opposite directions, potentially leading to a gridlocked government under the next president. Trump, 78, is making his third bid for the White House, following his loss to Biden in 2020.
