Starr has not only managed to deliver an outstanding performance but&nbsp;has created a love-hate relationship between his fanboys for loving the outrightly negative character. He&nbsp;recently shared how he felt The Boys is the perfect antidote to ‘superhero fatigue’ and expressed how he auditioned for this terrific role while being blissfully unaware of the world he was getting into. 
 
He said “I wasn’t familiar with the comic, I was filming something else at the time. My team asked me to audition and I told them ‘I am far too busy doing other things’. But I finally put a tape down almost out of spite, because my reps kept hassling me about it. (jokingly chuckles) I literally just spat my audition out and sent it away and went back to work and of course they loved it. So I looked at the comic book. I was like ‘how the hell are we going to put this on TV?’ You can’t screen that, this is obscene! But the show is taking a lot of creative license. I think one of the beautiful things about the show is, I have heard this phrase, thrown around a lot, ‘superhero fatigue’ and I think we are the antidote to that because our universe is completely 180. The good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys right? So. sorry for all the Homelander fanboys that thought he is a good guy.”

Jodie Foster has expressed her optimism for a shift in Hollywood away from the dominance of superhero stories in a recent interview with Elle Magazine. Acknowledging the ongoing superhero fatigue, Foster, who is an Oscar-winning actress, mentioned her anticipation for more diverse and engaging cinema beyond the current trend.

“It’s a phase. It’s a phase that’s lasted a little too long for me, but it’s a phase, and I’ve seen so many different phases. Hopefully people will be sick of it soon. The good ones—like Iron Man, Black Panther, The Matrix — I marvel at those movies, and I’m swept up in the entertainment of it, but that’s not why I became an actor. And those movies don’t change my life. Hopefully there’ll be room for everything else," she said.

He highlighted the potential dilution of audience focus as Disney expanded its Marvel output, producing both movies and TV series simultaneously.

“Often, the story is not as strong as the original story, that can be a problem, but it just has to have a reason, you have to have a reason to make it beyond commerce. There has to be an artistic reason to make it, and we’ve made too many," he said.
