<p>Two policemen and a protester were injured after clashes broke out between police and GJM supporters in Darjeeling, ANI reported.</p>

<p>The incident took place in Sukna.</p>

<p>According to ANI, GJM supporters had taken out a&nbsp;&#39;Khukri Protest&#39; which later turned violent.</p>

<p>This comes after weeks of relative peace in the region.</p>

<p>Darjeeling district administration sources told PTI that pro-Gorkhaland supporters carrying knives, swords and traditional Khukri, tried to enter Siliguri, demanding that Siliguri be included in the proposed Gorkhaland.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police reportedly put up barricades near the Sukna road crossing and asked them to go back.</p>

<p>The protesters, however, broke the first two barricades and pelted stones at the police, PTI reported.</p>

<p>The police&nbsp;used water cannons and mild baton charge to disperse the agitators, PTI added,&nbsp;</p>

<p>The protesters reportedly turned violent and set some vehicles alight.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pro-Gorkhaland supporters are currently organising a sit-in demonstration on the&nbsp;Sukna-Siliguri road.</p>

<p>The GJM leadership has claimed that police have resorted to firing, the district administration has denied the claim, PTI reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A huge contingent of police and security forces has&nbsp;been moved to bring the situation under control.&nbsp;<br />
