Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday paid homage to the victims of the terrorist attack of&nbsp;26/11 and also spoke about&nbsp;terrorism at a memorial event.

Amitabh Bachchan expressed his grief and said, &quot;Nine years ago, on this day these attacks were, to me, a wake-up call. But the question I asked myself was, Wake-up, yes, but wake-up to what? I woke up to a new era of violence, a new kind of violence, a violence that was inflicted by terrorism.&quot;

&quot;Terrorism is not an ideology, it is an act of scaring peaceful people, an act of evoking the fear of sudden, untimely death It is an act of negotiating at the point of a gun,&quot; the actor said.

&quot;Terror does not decide anything. Terror only hopes to establish the bluff that evil can be stronger than natural humanity,&nbsp;that hate is mightier than love.&nbsp;It is now for each one of us to decide if we want our children to accept this evil doctrine. Or, show our children that terror does not have a place in our hearts,&quot; he added.

&quot;Terror does not preserve anything, it is designed to destroy Once unleashed, terror, cannot be stopped by a debate.&nbsp;An act of terror, therefore, is not open to negotiations or to wisdom,&quot; Mr Bachchan said.

Amitabh Bachchan was speaking at the memorial event on terrorism organised by media conclave in partnership with Facebook at the Gateway of India, Mumbai.

Many survivors&#39; also shared their stories of strength and their personal triumph over terror.&nbsp;

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, censor board chairman Prasoon Joshi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also spoke at the event.

On November 26, 2008, 10 terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out a series of coordinated shooting&nbsp;and bombing attacks across Mumbai.&nbsp;

The attacks lasted for four days and received condemnation from across the world.

166 people were killed and at least 300 people were wounded in the attack.
