Australian cyclist Jack Bobridge, who won silver medals in the team pursuit at the last two&nbsp;Olympics, was arrested in Perth this week on charges of dealing in the ecstasy drug, local media reported on Friday.

Bobridge, who was forced into retirement last year because of the effects of rheumatoid arthritis, was arrested after police raided his home in the western Australian capital on Wednesday, the ABC reported.

&quot;The investigation led detectives to charge the 28-year-old man with two counts of sell and supply a trafficable quantity of MDMA and three counts of sell and supply MDMA,&quot; Perth police said in a statement to the national broadcaster.

Bobridge was bailed to appear at a Perth magistrates court to face the charges next month, ABC added.

In a highly successful career, Bobridge rode in four versions of the Giro d&#39;Italia and won the Australian road race national title for the second time in Ballarat in January 2016.

On the track, he competed in three&nbsp;Olympics, won three world championship gold medals, four Commonwealth Games titles and still holds the world record for the 4km individual pursuit with the time he set in Sydney in 2011.

Marina Shainova who won silver in the 58-kilogram class and Nadezhda Evstyukhina, bronze medalist in the 75-kg division, were among 10 Russian medalists from Beijing who reportedly tested positive last month in International Olympic Committee (IOC) reanalysis of their stored samples.

Shainova&#39;s coach, Vladimir Shainov, told Tass that the two lifters have now also tested positive for turinabol in their &quot;B&quot; samples.

&quot;The document about a further decision has not come yet, but now of course, they will take away the medal and disqualify. Evstyukhina is in the same situation,&quot; he said.

Once a &quot;B&quot; sample confirms the original positive finding, the IOC can open a formal doping case. The two could be stripped of their medals. Other Russian medalists from the Beijing Games who were reported to have failed retests last month included bronze medalist Anna Chicherova, who won the high jump gold at the London 2012 Games and Yulia Chermoshanskaya who won gold in the 4x100-meter relay.
The IOC stores Olympic doping samples for 10 years, so that it can reanalyze them when new testing methods become available.
