Richard Curtis&nbsp;directed the 2003 romantic Christmas comedy and is believed to be the reason behind this development.&nbsp;However, it will only be a short film where original cast members unite for a cause &mdash;&nbsp;Comic Relief&#39;s Red Nose Day,&nbsp;a charitable event in the US&nbsp;and UK&nbsp;that benefits children worldwide.

In a statement to BBC, Director Richard Curtis said, &ldquo;I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to &quot;Love Actually&quot;. But I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is now up to. Who has aged best? &mdash; I guess that&rsquo;s the big question &hellip; or is it so obviously Liam?&quot;

The cast of Love Actually&nbsp;includes Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Andrew Lincoln, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rowan Atkinson. They are also confirmed for the sequel. &nbsp;

The film, hopeful of bringing a moment of nostalgia among the cast members, promises to&nbsp;keep the spirit of the first film while helping aid the Red Nose Day collections.&nbsp;
