Cambodian farmers in this village are hoping that scarecrows will keep the coronavirus away from their homes and families. Called "Ting Mong" in Khmer, the scarecrows are usually made of straw and branches, donning old clothes and equipped with helmets and wooden sticks. Locals say they will protect them from evil spirits and diseases, a belief that dates back at least a century.
