<p>Leonardo DiCaprio is the latest celebrity to pledge monetary assistance to the <a href="http://www.wionews.com/world/tropical-storm-harvey-devastates-louisiana-at-least-25-dead-19701">Texas victims of Hurricane Harvey.</a>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has pledged the money to the newly established&nbsp;United Way Harvey Recovery Fund. United Way Worldwide is the largest privately funded nonprofit that is working to support those affected by the strongest hurricane that has hit the US mainland since 12 years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This isn&#39;t the first time that The&nbsp;Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has provided support to disaster relief aid. Leonardo is known for his philanthropic ways--he has provided donations to the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, 2012 Hurricane Sandy, and others.</p>

<p>The Walt Disney Company has donated $1 million to Red Cross relief efforts.</p>

<p>The social media giant, Facebook has also announced that it will match donations made on its website up to $1 million.</p>

<p>Hurricane Harvey has now been downgraded from the category 4 storm to a tropical storm but it has already devastated Texas and surrounding areas. So far, the storm has killed many and caused over&nbsp;$3 billion in property damage.</p>
