Turner Classic Movies has selected Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio to present ace filmmaker Martin Scorsese with the inaugural Robert Osborne Award as part of the 2018 TCM Classic Film Festival’s opening.

DiCaprio has worked with Scorsese in five of his films, starting off with 2002’s “Gangs of New York” and most recently in 2013, “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

DiCaprio will present the Robert Osborne Award on April 26 in Los Angeles to the filmmaker for his decades-long commitment to the legacy and preservation of classic films.

For those who are unaware, Scorsese established the Film Foundation in 1990, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving motion picture history. The foundation has funded the restoration of over 800 films till date and its World Cinema Project has restored 31 films from 21 countries worldwide.&nbsp;

The Robert Osborne Award will be given out annually at the TCM Classic Film Festival to a recipient whose work has helped keep the cultural heritage of classic films alive.

In another update, DiCaprio and Scorsese have started work on their<a href="http://www.wionews.com/world/leonardo-dicaprio-to-play-theodore-roosevelt-in-martin-scorseses-next-20798"> next film together, announced in 2017</a>. In the film, DiCaprio will be essaying the role of former US President Theodore Roosevelt who amongst other things, is famous for carrying out the conservation and preservation of national parks in the States.&nbsp;

The actor-director duo is currently working on a project that will have Leonardo playing former US president Theodore Roosevelt whose efforts to conserve and preserve the country's national parks are considered some of his greatest achievements.
