<p>The report said that Harward was concerned whether Trump&#39;s advisers will let him install his own team at the National Security Council. Robert Harward served as deputy commander of the US Central Command under the current secretary of defence, James Mattis. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Harward was offered the job after Michael Flynn was fired as the National Security Adviser by Trump after he misled the Vice-President, Mike Pence, about his conversation with the Russian envoy to the US.</p>

<p>Following a more than 30-year military career, Harward became chief executive of defense giant Lockheed Martin&#39;s United Arab Emirates division.</p>

<p>But Republican senator&nbsp;James Lankford&nbsp;rejected the suggestion that supposed White House chaos caused Harward to reject the offer, calling it &quot;hearsay&quot;.&nbsp;</p>
