<p>The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has sent a letter to the Election Commission against Janardhan Reddy,&nbsp;former Minister of the state government over his comments on Siddaramaiah.</p>

<p>The letter filed by the Congress committee said that while campaigning for a BJP candidate Sriramulu,&nbsp;Reddy has said that the BJP had fielded the candidate to kill Siddharavana.</p>

<p>The complaint quoted Reddy as saying, "Sriramulu has been fielded by BJP to kill Siddharavana". Siddharavana which means " demon" reportedly referred to Siddaramaiah.</p>

<p>The former Union Minister had called the chief minister Siddaramaiah "Ravana" while comparing Sriramulu to "Rama".</p>

<p>Sriramulu is contesting against Siddaramaiah from Badami constituency.</p>

<p>In its complaint, the Congress has sought an action against Reddy.</p>

<p>The Karnataka government is contemplating the framing of a law enabling capital punishment to rapists of minor girls, reports said on Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy said in Bengaluru that the government would look for further details of the law passed by the Madhya Pradesh government - which states that the accused would be given death penalty if found guilty of raping girls aged 12 and below.</p>

<p>&quot;We will get details of the law and plan to enact the same here in Karnataka,&quot; he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&quot;You have seen the recent incident of rape and murder of a Dalit minor girl, which caused so much of tension in coastal Karnataka and its neighbouring districts. So such laws will curb such heinous crimes,&quot; Reddy further added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The home minister said that he would be taking up the matter with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.</p>
