While WION has resolutely skipped sharing the doctor's identity, her name was leaked on&nbsp;the internet. A search on Google trends revealed that the victim's name, followed by terms like "video", "rape video" are trending in India, especially over the last seven days.

The results, which were shared with the media in the last seven days, revealed evidence of sexual assault and that the body carried 16 external and nine internal injury marks.

The post-mortem examination of the victim revealed that she was subjected to strangulation, smothering, and forceful penetration.&nbsp;

Furthermore, it found "medical evidence of forceful penetration/insertion in her genitalia — possibility of sexual assault."

External injuries&nbsp;include abrasions on the cheeks, lips, nose, neck, arms, and knees. Additionally, she had injuries in her private parts.

Meanwhile, internal injuries include those on the muscles of her neck, scalp, and other body parts.

"All injuries are ante-mortem (before death), showing evidence of vital reactions," stated the post-mortem report signed by a team of&nbsp;doctors comprising Apurba Biswas, professor, department of forensic medicine and toxicology, R G Kar Medical College; Rina Das, associate professor, department of forensic medicine and toxicology, R G Kar Medical College; and Molly Banerjee, assistant professor, department of forensic medicine, NRS Medical College and Hospital.

Her parents, despite their modest means, supported her dream, with her father, a tailor, working tirelessly to finance her education. They eventually bought her a car to ease the tiring commute between their home and the hospital after her long shifts.

"At first, she told me to wait. She said we couldn't manage the EMIs [monthly instalments] and she didn't want to overburden us. But then she found the bus ride so tiring after a long shift that she agreed to the car."

The father and his wife took comfort in the belief that their daughter was safe at the hospital, a place they assumed was secure.

"Like all parents, we worried about her safety, but only while she was travelling. The moment she reached the hospital, we relaxed. She was safe. It’s like when we used to drop her off at school—once she was inside the gate, you feel she is safe."

Public outrage has been amplified by the fact that the attack occurred in the very hospital where she worked—a place her family trusted to be safe.&nbsp;

What was the case all about?

In July 2019, a few days after a woman was allegedly raped by two migrant minors living in a reception centre, the Guardia Civil officer posted a video on his Twitter account that he said showed a young Moroccan migrant raping a woman in Canet de Mar, a town near Barcelona. The video was watched almost 21,000 times.

The video, however, was from China, and showed a woman being beaten and sexually assaulted.

“Here’s a video of the Moroccan mena (a derogatory term for unaccompanied minors) in Canet de Mar, one of the ones who we will end up paying for until he’s 23,” read the post. The officer also wrote that the attack by “lunatics and packs of Moroccans” were being ignored by the media.

Prosecutors claimed that the defendant’s account was full of racist and xenophobic material. They had initially sought a two-year sentence.

“Driven by his animosity towards, and rejection of, foreign immigrants of Moroccan origin, he published a tweet and a video showing an apparent rape committed by two minors in an effort to smear them by associating them in a general manner with violent acts and sexual assaults,” the Barcelona court said while handing over the quantum of sentence to the defendant.&nbsp;

The Uttar Pradesh police have launched a manhunt for two men who allegedly assaulted a woman and uploaded the video on social media.&nbsp;

The incident took place at Kannauj`s Samdhan district in Uttar Pradesh.

The girl was initially reluctant to file a case fearing defamation but went ahead after the video of the incident was uploaded on social media by the accused.&nbsp;

Police registered a case against the accused on Sunday evening.&nbsp;

Speaking to the media, the sister of the victim said, "If the accused are not hanged or given life imprisonment, we will give up our lives."

The accused identified as Talib and Salman gang-raped the woman near a well in the locality on April 24 of which the woman did not inform her family.&nbsp;

The incident came to light when the men uploaded an explicit video of the act on social media, following which the woman along with her family immediately filed a case with the local police.

The police informed that the case has been registered and the accused men will be caught soon.&nbsp;

Further investigation is underway.&nbsp;
