<p>In a video posted by journalist Daniel Bordman on X, Peel Police officers assaulted a crowd of Hindu devotees and used force against them as some waved the Indian flag.</p>

<p>As per Bordman, the police officers were deployed at the temple to restore order after an altercation broke out between the Hindu community and Khalistani supporters. However, the police officers were seen "punching" people and "beating them with batons".</p>

<p>A consular camp, which was co-organised by the High Commission of India, was hosted by the temple when the incident took place.</p>

<p>A group of people with pro-Khalistani flags and sticks barged into the event and targeted the people of the Hindu community.</p>

<p>Addressing the protest on X, Peel Regional Police said that the deployment of police officers has been increased at the temple for maintaining public order.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We respect the right to protest in a peaceful and safe manner but will not tolerate violence and criminal acts. Those that do participate in this activity will be pursued, arrested and charged," said Chief Nishan Duraiappah.</p>

The attack by Khalistanis on the Hindu-Canadian devotees inside the premises of the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton shows how deep and brazen has Khalistani violent extremism become in Canada. I begin to feel that there is a small grain of truth in the reports that in addition to Canadian political apparatus, Khalistanis have effectively infiltrated into our law enforcement agencies."</p>

<p>In a statement on the issue, the High Commission of India in Ottawa expressed its "deep disappointment" and said, "We have seen violent disruption today (Nov. 3) orchestrated by anti-India elements outside the consular camp."</p>

<p>External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the Indian government "condemns acts of violence perpetrated by extremists and separatists. We also expect that those indulging in such violence will be prosecuted."&nbsp;</p>
