<p>According to the Indian Oil Corporation, the prices of petrol reduced by 21-22 paisa per litre in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai compared with the previous day's price. While the prices of diesel went down by 15-16 paise per litre.</p>

<p>The price of the petrol and diesel is being monitored by the state-run oil marketing companies.</p>

<p>The Indian Oil Corporation reviews the prices by comparing it with global crude oil and rupee-dollar forex rates, among other factors.</p>

<p>After the consistent reduction in the price of the two for ten days, the prices for petrol and diesel have not even reduced by a rupee.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the consecutive increase in the prices since May 2014 had led to an increase of Rs 3.55 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.78.</p>
