The Election Commission of Pakistan has warned that the polls scheduled for February 8 may have to be delayed if requests keep coming to change the election symbols already allocated to candidates. PPP has also been denied the use of the party election symbol of arrow to its ticket holders in Punjab.

Pakistan's election commission warns of poll delay

After a deadlock over the poll dates for months, Pakistan is all set to hold general elections on February 11. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) informed the country's Supreme Court about the poll date on Thursday (Nov 2), media reports said. This comes as Anwaar ul Haq Kakar took office as Pakistan's interim Prime Minister on August 14, 2023.
