Some airlines have even issued advisories that no extra fare will be charged for cancellation of flights due to bad weather.&nbsp;

Vistara airlines in its advisory said, “Flights landing and departing out of Port Blair in between January 5-8 may get impacted by Cyclone Pabuk. We will waive change and cancel fees for all passengers who request it. Only fare difference, if any, will be applicable for date changes.”&nbsp;

On the other hand, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted more rains for Andamans over the next 12 hours.&nbsp;

“Rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Andaman Islands during next 12 hours. Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail over east-central Bay of Bengal, Andaman Islands and adjoining Andaman Sea and southeast Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours. It is likely to become 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph from the morning of January 8th&nbsp;and decrease further thereafter,” said the last weather bulletin on Monday evening.&nbsp;

The weather bulletin issued by the &nbsp;Indian Meteorological Department also asked the fishermen not to venture into deep seas as the sea conditions will remain rough.&nbsp;

“Sea condition is very likely to be rough to very rough over east-central and adjoining south east Bay of Bengal, around Andaman Islands during next 12 hours and will be rough during subsequent 12 hours. An "orange" weather warning means people should "be prepared" and there is an increased likelihood of bad or extreme weather, which may disrupt road and air travel and threaten life and property.

"Pabuk" is now over the Andaman sea and its neighbourhood and it has moved north-northwestwards at a speed of 20 kmph in the last six hours.

It lays centred near latitude 11.0&nbsp;North and longitude 95.5&nbsp;East, about 310 km east-southeast of Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The cyclonic storm is very likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and cross the Andaman islands by Sunday night with a wind speed of 65-75 kmph, gusting to 85 kmph, the official said.

Thereafter, it is very likely to move north-northwestwards and then recurve north-eastwards, towards the Myanmar coast, and weaken gradually thereafter, he added, quoting from the bulletin.

“Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to commence over Andaman Sea along and off south Myanmar and Thailand coast from 4th January evening. It is very likely to increase gradually becoming 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 over the Andaman Sea on 5th and over the Andaman Islands, Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of east-central and the southeast Bay of Bengal on 6th and 7th,” said the Met department’s advisory.&nbsp;

The advisory asked all inhabitants of the Islands and tourists to take precautionary measures and plan accordingly in the wake rough sea conditions caused by the cyclonic storm. It further informed that passenger vessel between Swaraj Deep(Havelock)and Shaheed Deep(Neil) may be affected.&nbsp;

“The sea condition will be rough to very rough over Andaman Sea along and off south Myanmar and Thailand coast from 4th January evening. It is very likely to become very rough to high over Andaman Sea on 5th and over Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of east-central and the southeast Bay of Bengal on 6th and 7th,” adds the advisory.&nbsp;

This apart, the fishermen have been advised not to venture into Andaman Sea during January 4th-7th and into adjoining southeast and the east-central Bay of Bengal during January 6-7th.

Odisha and Andaman administration have been put on alert due to the incoming cyclone.

Southern Thailand was on alert Thursday ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Pabuk, which is expected to plow through the Gulf of Thailand and across to the Andaman Sea over three days. 
 
The storm was moving with sustained winds of 65kph through the tip of Indochina and was expected to hit the Gulf of Thailand Thursday, the Thai Meteorological Department said in a weather warning Thursday morning. 
 
Waves are expected to reach 3-5 meters high in the Gulf, and 2-3 meters in the Andaman Sea. 
 
“People in the Gulf should be aware of inshore surges. All ships should keep ashore lasting 5 January 2019,” the department said. 
 
The warning said the storm will affect provinces of Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun from Thursday with “isolated torrential downpours and strong wind.” 
 
From Friday, the same provinces plus Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ranong, Phangnga and Phuket will also be affected, according to the department. 
 
Seatran Discovery ferries said on its website that most of their services had been canceled from Thursday to Saturday. 
 
Lomprayah High Speed Catamarans said on its website that Thursday’s 18.15 Koh Pangan to Koh Tao crossing is canceled, as are all routes on Friday. They will resume again on Saturday from midday depending on conditions. 
 
Many fisherman have pulled their boats out of the water and back from the beaches.
