&quot;I&#39;m just a regular citizen doing what every citizen should do. Cops are the real heroes, law enforcement are the real heroes,&quot; said Bains. 
 
When the police arrived Rahami pulled out a handgun and opened fire, injuring one officer. In the foot chase that followed, Rahami shot at a police car. 
 
Rahami was shot multiple times, then taken to hospital where he was operated upon. 
 
In a statement, the National Sikh Campaign in the US said that this was a&nbsp;brave and courageous act by Bains.
