Over 700 people from Myanmar, mostly civilians, have entered Mizoram in the past few weeks, a police officer said on Sunday. He said that the new entrants who made their way to Mizoram were mostly civilians, including pregnant women, children, and senior citizens.

Two Myanmar nationals, reportedly Rohingyas were apprehended at the Kolkata airport by immigration authorities. On Saturday late night, two Myanmar nationals identified as – Rafika Khatoon and Noor Kaida Khatoon were about to board a flight to Kuala Lumpur by flight AK 62 when immigration officials asked them to show their passports on suspicion.
