Joining the bandwagon recently was ‘The Godfather’ (1972) helmer Francis Ford Coppola who called it <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/francis-ford-coppola-supports-martin-scorseses-theme-park-remark-on-marvel-films-257308">“despicable”.</a>

Reacting to this, Jon Favreau, director of the first two ‘Iron Man’ movies as well as executive producer of all the ‘Avengers’ instalments had a very diplomatic reply to the filmmakers. He said, "These two guys are my heroes, and they have earned the right to express their opinions. I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing if they didn’t carve the way. They served as a source of inspiration, you can go all the way back to Swingers... They can express whatever opinion they like."

For those uninitiated, Coppola had said, "I don't know that anyone gets anything out of seeing the same movie over and over again. Martin was kind when he said it's not cinema. He didn't say it's despicable, which I just say it is.”

On the work front meanwhile, Jon is busy with ‘The Mandalorian’, which is set in the Star Wars universe and will premiere on November 12, 2019. It features Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi and Werner Herzog in pivotal roles.
