The controversy surrounding Marvel films doesn’t seem to die down as another Hollywood celebrity has now dissed the Studio for its films.

Jennifer Aniston who is busy promoting her upcoming serial ‘The Morning Show’ got talking to a US publication Variety as she said that she wished for the era of romantic films to come back, mentioning Meg Ryan in her statement.

On the changing face of Hollywood, Jennifer said, "It’s changed so much. I think we would so love to have the era of Meg Ryan come back. I just think it would be nice to go into a movie theater, sit cozy. I think we should have a resurgence. Let’s get the Terms of Endearment, back out there. You know, Heaven Can Wait, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles Goodbye Girl."

As she is making her return to TV, she said, "It wasn’t until the last couple of years when these streaming services were just sort of exploding with this amount of quality that I actually started to think, 'Wow, that’s better than what I just did.' And then you’re seeing what’s available out there and it’s just diminishing and diminishing in terms of, it’s big Marvel movies. Or things that I’m not just asked to do or really that interested in living in a green screen."

This is after ace filmmaker Martin Scorsese said that Marvel films are not cinema. He said, "I don’t see them. I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema. Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being."

Actors Samuel L Jackson and Robert Downey Jr spoke on the issue with Robert who plays Iron Man in the franchise films saying, “According to Scorsese, it’s not cinema. I gotta take a look at that,” and added, “I mean, it plays in theatres. I appreciate his opinion. I think it’s like anything where we need all of the different perspectives so we can come to the center and move on." Read his full statement here.
